I had high hopes for this film since it looked like it was returning to the roots of the comic book and it couldn't be much worse than part 2. The turtles somehow go back in time and find themselves in feudal Japan. This is good. Unfortunately while they're there, they goof off, make jokes, pull pranks, and make the Japanese look like buffoons. This is bad. To make things even worse, four Japanese warriors were displaced into modern day New York and they spend their time goofing off with Casey Jones (Elias Koteas). The leaner budget resulted in sillier looking costumes and uninspired action sequences. Not surprisingly, the film franchise died with this lame attempt.
