Orders of magnitude better than "Batman Forever" (1995), but still almost intolerable to watch. It would have been much easier to watch had there not been ANY dialog. This time around, Batman and Robin have to save Gotham City (and the world) from Mr. Freeze (a throw away role for Arnold Schwarzenegger), Poison Ivy (Uma Thurman), and Bane. Surprisingly good looking with some very nice special effects and well crafted, albeit stupid, set pieces. George Clooney worked well as Batman and he pulled off some genuinely tender moments. The rest of the primary cast did as well as the material would allow them, but I personally would have liked to see Batgirl kick some serious butt instead of hearing her inane banter. A mixed bag, it had a lot of things going for it, and a lot of things going against it, but I'd probably see it again.
