Disney's fun and exciting adaptation of Jules Verne's classic novel about a brilliant scientist and political terrorist named Captain Nemo (James Mason) and the idealistic exploits of his nuclear submarine, the Nautilus. Kirk Douglas is a goofy sailor who gets caught up in the whole mess. The story and effects may seem a bit hokey and outdated, but the art direction, set design, and underwater photography are superb.
