James Camerson finally delivers a stinker. This is a remake of a French film about a top secret government operative who eventually gets into trouble with his naive and mousy wife. Arnold Schwarzenegger plays the operative parading as a computer salesman and Jamie Lee Curtis is his complacent wife. While the first twenty minutes are pretty exciting and the last twenty minutes are pretty exciting, the whole hour in the middle is just dreadfully boring and almost painful to watch as Cameron desperately tries to deliver comedy with dismal results. The final insult is when Ms. Curtis is blackmailed into performing a gratuitous sexy dance for a sleazy client. The film is really only noteworthy for its effects, and the bridge/Harrier sequence at the end of the film is particularly spectacular. Too bad the rest of the film falls on its face.
