A hilarious comedy in the same vein as "Airplane!" (1980). Slick and sassy Val Kilmer is a popular Elvis-like rock 'n' roll star named Nick Rivers who visits Germany while on tour. There, he gets caught up with some underground renegades and uncovers a nasty German plot to take over the world. The jokes and sight gags are delivered at a delirously furious pace which becomes overwhelming if you're not prepared for such an experience. Two amazing sequences stand out in the film: An entire scene in a Polish bookstore was painstakingly filmed in reverse, and a fascinating Old West bar room brawl was filmed entirely underwater. These two scenes alone are worth seeing, not only because they're funny, but because of their technical prowess. Highly entertaining stuff.
