A fast paced action sequel that pits Superman (Christopher Reeve) against a trio of nasty villains who escaped from Krypton and proceed to destroy all of Metropolis. To further complicate things, Superman decides to give up his superpowers in order to become human and marry Lois Lane. With a leaner budget, the visual effects are considerably less impressive than the original, and the flying sequences look especially poor. A lot of it doesn't make much sense and it verges on parody, but Reeve and Kidder make a great couple and are fun to watch.
