Showdown In Little Tokyo (1991)

Rating: *
Cast: Dolph Lundgren, Brandon Lee, Tia Carrere, Cary Hiroyuki-Tagawa

Ugh. What is this crap? Dolph Lundgren and Brandon Lee are capable of so much more, and they get stuck with this embarrassing film. This film features everything that's bad about B-movies and nothing that's good. Dolph Lundgren is a tough and sensitive cop in San Francisco's Little Tokyo. He gets paired with a rookie cop (an annoying Brandon Lee) from the Asian task force to take out a nasty Yakuza leader (Cary Hiroyuki-Tagawa) who comes to town. Tia Carrere is thrown into the mix as a helpless victim that Lundgren and Lee are trying to protect and impress. Kill me now. This film features some of the worst dialog ever written, and Lundgren and Lee do their best to pull it off. Some of the action scenes are marginally rewarding as both Lundgren and Lee know how to kick ass, but otherwise it's a complete waste.
