A good adaptation of Herman Melville's novel about a whaling ship and her captain (Gregory Peck) who is obsessed with and tormented by a giant and elusive white whale. His journey into madness eventually leads to his death and the death of his crew. It features some great effects and some unsettling and bloody footage of the whalers at work.
