Not at all what I expected or was hoping for, this is a great looking science fiction art film that fails to take itself seriously. Bruce Willis is a hot tempered cabbie in a sci-fi futuristic setting who manages to get himself all tangled up in a conflict of galactic importance. Extremely clever and well made, but a little too campy for my tastes. Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich, and Ian Holm are magnificent, but Gary Oldman doing his Ross Perot impersonation falls miserably short. A flawed movie with a lot going for it, it is definitely a mixed bag. However, it improves greatly on multiple viewings.
