Demolition Man (1993)

Rating: **
Cast: Sylvester Stallone, Wesley Snipes, Sandra Bullock, Denis Leary, Rob Schneider

Sigh. Made in the height of the early nineties where big budget action films started replacing action with stupid and silly attempts at humor. Sylvester Stallone is a violent cop who has been frozen in suspended animation for many years. His psychotic arch nemesis, Wesley Snipes, was also frozen, and someone has gone out and unfrozen both of them in a futuristic society that is totally unprepared to deal with the violence and chaos that they unleash. Rob Schneider provides most of the dumb jokes as an idiot cop, and sharp and sexy Sandra Bullock is a cop who yearns for the action and excitement of the old days (she's a big Jackie Chan fan!). Eventually Stallone ends up putting Snipes on ice forever, but by this point, nobody really cares. With a huge endorsement from PepsiCo, we learn that all restaurants in the future will become Taco Bell. (although interestingly enough, in the Asian prints of the film, the Taco Bell plugs were replaced with Pizza Hut)
