The Barbarians (1987)

Rating: ***
Writer: Jim Silke
Cast: Peter Paul, David Paul, Richard Lynch, Eva La Rue, Michael Berryman

This movie is so tacky and campy that it's actually a lot of fun. David and Peter Paul, the Barbarian Brothers, are orphans raised to be pit fighters by the villainous Richard Lynch. They manage to escape his evil clutches and then embark on a journey to save their adopted mother with the aid of cute and perky Eva La Rue. The acting, dialog, and effects are so cheesy that you have to laugh at them, but nobody takes the film seriously (especially the two leads) which is why it works so well. It's just a lot of stupid low brow fun.
