Okay, whose idea was this? Chow Yun Fat is an American CIA operative who is sent to China to protect a national treasure. The treasure happens to be a supernatural being hanging out in Shaolin Temple in the guise of tragically pretty Wu Chien Lien. The whole thing is an embarrassment, with the highlight of the film being Chow Yun Fat teaching the Shaolin Monks how to play baseball (complete with custom Shaolin baseball uniforms). Another great moment is a magical encounter between Chow and Wu Chien Lien where she makes weird things happen to him, like making his fist the size of a basketball and making flowers grow out of his head or something. Pretty dreadful. Unless you're a Chow Yun Fat completist, you'd be better off passing this one up.
