Wow! Samo Hung and Corey Yuen deliver one sucker-punch after another in this intense and shockingly brutal film. The plot is incidental and little more than a showcase for Joyce Mina Godenzi. She's a high ranking police officer who marries into a wealthy family of policemen/women. The trouble is, all of the daughters can't stand her and constantly berate her, while the chief of police is trying to get her in bed. Her new husband (Tony Leung) isn't much better, and all he cares about is siring an offspring to further the family line. But he doesn't last long. Enter a group of Vietnamese criminals led by Yuen Wah whose plans are foiled by Ms. Godenzi, and ever-escalating revenge dominates the rest of the film. Just when you think things can't get any worse, they do, with jaw-dropping results. The kung fu, stunts, and gunplay are vicious and brutal, culminating in a hand-to-hand showdown between Joyce and body-builder Agnes Aurelio at the end (she looks pretty good, too). Holy shit, those women take a pounding! Carina Lau is magnificent as Joyce's greatest rival sister-in-law, and delivers an amazing performance with killer kung fu. Not for the faint of heart - these chicks mean business.
