Scientists find a giant prehistoric egg on a remote island and take it back to the mainland to study. In the process, Rodan and Godzilla show up and beat the hell out of each other. Meanwhile, the clowns at G-Force have created the ultimate battle fortress in the likeness of Godzilla called Mechagodzilla and its crew is going through exhaustive training. In a lab, the egg hatches and turns out to be a baby Godzillasaur (I didn't make that up) which causes Daddy to make a surprise visit to Kyoto. Baby Godzilla is finally reunited with his father after Rodan sacrifices himself to revive the dying Godzilla, and Mechagodzilla is utterly destroyed by the two rampaging monsters. And, of course, there's a cute young scientist babe to watch. Full of fighting and destruction, and not dragged down too much with cuteness, sentimentality, and environmental issues.
