Director: Wu Ma
Cast: Yuen Biao, Donnie Yen, Wu Ma, Ken Lo, cameo by Bey Logan
A disappointing Yuen Biao/Donnie Yen vehicle that could have been far better if it hadn't tried to rely on silly circus gags. When the Japanese invaded Shanghai, it tore apart and scattered Wu Ma's travelling circus. He and his family find refuge in Canton, only to become victims of dope smoking corrupted officials. But good eventually prevails and the circus goes on the road again. There are some extremely impressive circus stunts and some good fighting, but when the two mix it's bad news. Of particular note are Wu Ma's tragically beautiful eldest daughter, and the main villainess who's quite an impressive fighter (in a Victorian period dress no less!). It's frustrating to not know the names of either of these actresses.
