Hmm... Not at all what I was expecting. Then again, I have very little experience with Rob Zombie's oeuvre and wasn't sure what to expect. The premise seems interesting enough - a Mexican masked wrestler super hero battles the diabolical Dr. Satan and a horde of Nazi zombies to save the world. Unfortunately, it's an immature exercise in stupidity and profanity. The tone actually reminded me a lot of "Bikini Bandits" (2004) in its stripper/porn mentality and its puerile attempts to get laughs. It's also a lame excuse to draw a lot of animated titties. While the art direction is interesting and the female character design is cute, there's just no substance to sink your teeth into. The only real enjoyment to be had is seeing Suzi X's over-the-top fight scenes and listening to Rosario Dawson's endless barrage of squeaky trash talk. While "El Superbeasto" does have a few moments of brilliance, it's mostly just tedious and annoying.
