This animated series explores the world of Michael Jai White's "Black Dynamite" (2009) with hilariously offensive results. It's rude, crude, and savagely satirical, and viciously lampoons pop culture celebrities like Michael Jackson, Richard Pryor, and O.J. Simpson. For the most part, the writing is a brilliant mix of silliness and sophistication, and the rapid fire jive dialog is relentless in its non-stop intensity. The voice actors are superb, and Bryon Minns' performance as Bullhorn is pure genius. The animation is quite good and the art direction has a dramatic anime feel to it. The show definitely pushes the boundaries of cultural taboos and made me uncomfortable on several occasions, but regardless of how tasteless it may be, the humor is always thoughtful and smart. Great stuff, but not for those who are easily offended.
